MMW: Saudi Women Set Their Sights on the Right to Vote

Last March, Saudi authorities stated that half the seats in the municipal council in the next September 2011 run would be elected, rather than selected by the monarch himself as usual. But when they implemented elections, they neglected to include women’s votes. When asked why, the kingdom’s electoral commission mentioned it was because of logistic-related difficulties in sex-segregated election stations, the same reason that was previously used back in 2005. Almost six years have passed and nothing has changed, proving only that logistic-related difficulties are only an excuse for not making changes.

"society" approved misogyny is the problem in Muslim states, as much as it's a problem in any state,
it has nothing to do with "Islam" as an ideology, the tenants themselves contain no "violence" against women, or any other sector, Violent misinterpretations by extremists have plagued all religions, and it's a shame that one extreamist such as your self cannot recognize himself in others.

as for your key points :

1. disregarding other's faith as simple Myth, is on the face of it rude, and in depth is seriously stupid, what i believe does not hurt you in anyway, the insistence on bashing my beliefs gives me the fundamental right of bashing you right back, which is pretty counter productive.

2. we never needed to separate the mosque from the state since they have nothing to do with one another in the first place, Since it's the duty of each Muslim to follow his/her own conscience in everything he/she does or acts upon, the are no "Holders of wisdom" in Islam, and no one has the right to claim authority over the interpretations of the Quoran and the Sunna, each is supposed to find his/her own way.

3. who ever claimed that Islam was pro building a pacifist society?
if we are attacked or abused, we will respond, in kind, and in force, on the other hand we are governed by beliefs that make our reprisals to the point and as directed as can be, and don't wave rouges like Bin laden in my face.

4. that should have been within point one about mythical beliefs, it's either you needed more padding to your words, or you're just copy/pasting stuff you don't really get!, which makes you as dishonest as the extremists we are fighting.

5. correction : Saudi Arabia/Iran IS still rooted in the 8th century, nothing to do with what the rest of the world/humanity/Muslims think.

conclusions :

you are commenting in the wrong blog post (since the post it self has nothing to do with promoting islam).

you are as bad as the shmucks you are attacking, (also wrong address) since you only focus on what you want to focus on, and ignore everything else.

your logic is unsound.
your history is iffy at best.

note: if and only if you are looking for a real discussion kindly comment back, if you don't i think we can all just safely label you as a spammer.

peace be upon you.

oops i thought i posted this blurb in the saudi womens driving topic, but now that i'm here :)

as i understand it, islam & sharia law are inseperable and compared to western society sharia law is very harsh, unfair & unequal in its treatment of females compared to males. of course you may be right there may possibly exist somewhere on planet earth oppressed by an islamic theocracy that DOES support fair human rights for females and i'm just not aware of it

1 - no it is NOT rude to consider other peoples faiths as myth, what is rude is for muslims to use violence to propagate their "faith" against the free will desires of unbelievers. and so what if other religions have problems too ? this does not make islam any better

2 - so every muslim gets to decide for him/herself what the koran means and how it should be interpreted, is this what you are saying ? if so then why do islamic countries have state sponsored clerics whose duty it is to interpret sharia law & impose it on their captive audience ?

3 - islam is NOT a "defensive" religion and any claim as such is blatant b.s. as is well documented in secular history

4 - good luck trying to spin your way out of this one, taqiyya, kitman, dissimulation, abrogation in the koran, progressive revelation to supercede the peaceful life of mohamed with his violent warlord role all show the validity of this assertion

5 - you are claiming there are "moderate" islamic theocracies existing somewhere on planet earth ? certainly not in europe where non-assimilating muslims are creating no-go zones as fast as they can congregrate in any area etc

otherwise good luck debating this "religion" called islam against western style freedoms, on a level playing field the debate conclusions are foregone, islam is a fascist totalitarian ideology from western viewpoints while it is the 1 true whatever from islamic perspective

oops, i thought you actually read before you respond...

1 actually it is rude, check with any neighbour of yours, and in case you have not noticed, I'm not bashing your belief system, whatever i may think of it, or whatever it may be.
2 actually yes, each and everyone of us IS supposed to find his/her own way, it is a sadly neglected duty, this negligence is enforced by totalitarian states that do impose state sanctioned Imams and such, pretty much why a lot of Muslim/Arab peoples are up against their rulers these days, in case you’ve been living under a rock since the year started.
3 ok, so i have to use simple words for you, …
Islam Is NOT a pacifist Religion, it Aims to build a Community which WILL defend it self when attacked, and there are rules to govern such actions.
4 you seem to have a penchant for buzz words don’t you ? i guess it’s easier to call me a liar, and keep that hood covering your eyes, must be cool feeling like a lone crusader against the might of the barbaric heathens.
5 what do you expect? fleeing minorities will always defend themselves, demonize the enemy, and hold on tight to grudges, … it’s too much a universal trait to proclaim it to any one certain group.

Now please,
Peace be Upon you, and if not, Kindly Go pester someone else.

hey thanks that was a good reply and no it's better to be part of team dealing with this islamic problem, the lone crusader stuff is ridiculous :)

otherwise this blog is open to the public on the internet and freely hosted on western society servers so it's quite reasonable to expect guests to appear and reply with comments yes ?

your islamic quest for conquering the planet just confirms western societies negative views about this "religion" see no-go zones in europe & the lastest b.s. from UK

anyway thanks again for replying !!
